12 V 5 A Bench Supply

In designTest gearPower supplies
Last updated 5 October 2026

Most of the projects here run from 12 V: the VCR139A monitor and its inverters, the 1200B scope box, the magnetic loop controller and the dummy load's control circuit. This supply provides a fixed 12.0 V at 5 A for all of them.

A fanless 12 V 10 A S-120-12 module from stock (or a Mean Well LRS-100-12) does the regulation and protection. A pi filter after it removes the switching ripple, which matters beside CRTs and receivers, and the output floats with a separate earth post.
